The aim within the Social Service ministry is to assist the community near and far, from Browns Bay to Kawakawa.

Love Link
The church is lead by Pastor Frethey and his wife Joy, who came into the ministry from a farming background. During his time as a farmer he was also a lay preacher. In the beginning they traveled from Whangarei to hold the odd service until they extended his call to become their full time pastor. This continued for 18 months, holding their meetings in the local school hall until such time that they could purchase the building they now occupy. Altogether they have been pasturing to the people of Kawakawa for 5 years.
The church is situated right in the centre of the town. The church building was once used as the town’s local bank. They have a small congregation of approximately 30 people, small but very friendly congregation.
They have extended a warm welcome to the people of Long Bay Baptist, and have said you are most welcome to join them in worship and fellowship anytime you are passing through or near Kawakawa. |

Food BankThis is a low profile ministry but we can tell you that over the last year we have distributed 70 parcels serving 100 adults and 96 children. There are many heart warming stories that fill you with joy, of someone struggling to make ends meet, paying the rent or mortgage thinking where is the next meal coming from to feed the kids.
We ask that you help by bringing supplies to the church and leave them on the table at the main door.
Every person who receives a parcel is prayed for before it goes out, and we pray that the recipients recognise that the parcel comes because God loves them.
Any members of the public wishing to access a food parcel must contact their local Citizens' Advice Bureau in the first instance. |

OP ShopMembers of our church continue to work in the shop, located at 3 Inverness Road, Browns Bay. This shop has the second largest turnover of all the shops operated by Baptist Action.
If you can spare a day or half day to help you would be most welcome. |
